truswallet.foundation is an impersonation phishing domain. Its name drops a single letter from Trust Wallet, so a user typing quickly or skimming a link could take it for the real wallet brand. Its targets are self-custody crypto wallet users. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-12. As of 2026-10-19 the server still answers, but the domain's DNS is inactive, so the phishing content is not currently resolving.
How the scam works
Lookalike wallet domains like this are typically spread through ads, social media replies and fake support messages. They present a page styled as the genuine wallet and ask the visitor to "verify", "restore" or "sync" their wallet. The goal is to get the 12- or 24-word recovery phrase or a wallet connection that grants spending rights, which lets the operator empty the wallet. The page title currently served is the stock "Apache2 Ubuntu Default Page: It works" placeholder, while our classification is Trust Wallet impersonation phishing.
Evidence
On 2026-09-25, 14 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Detections came from crypto-focused and general vendors, including ChainPatrol, BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar and Chong Lua Dao. The domain is also on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, and Spamhaus lists it in its DBL as phishing. It appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses, showing other researchers have tracked it independently.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-08-09, just three days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains set up for a quick campaign. It is hosted on Ghosty Networks LLC in Luxembourg. Its Let's Encrypt certificate means the padlock in the browser proves nothing about legitimacy.
What to do
If you typed your recovery phrase on this site, assume the wallet is compromised. Create a new wallet on a trusted device and move any remaining funds to it immediately. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, revoke token approvals with a reputable approval-checker and watch for unexpected transfers. Reach Trust Wallet only through its official app or website, never through links in messages or ads. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, add it to mail and chat filters, and watch for similar misspellings of wallet brands.
