stakovip.link is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself under the name STAKO, built to pass as a legitimate crypto service and draw in wallet holders and would-be investors. PhishDestroy first caught it on 2026-10-16, only three days after the domain was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its scam content, so it remains a live risk.
How the scam works
The page wears the STAKO name to borrow trust that the operators have not earned. Visitors usually arrive through social media posts, direct messages or promoted links. Once there, they are pushed to act: connect a wallet, sign a transaction, deposit funds or type in a recovery phrase. Each of those steps hands control to the scammers. A signed approval can let them move tokens, deposits never come back, and a seed phrase gives them the whole wallet. Victims typically lose whatever they send, plus any assets the wallet permissions expose.
Evidence
On 2026-10-16 none of the 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. That gap is common for scam sites only a few days old, and it should not be read as a clean bill of health. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and matched it to its crypto-scam category. MetaMask and the SEAL security alliance both list the domain alongside PhishDestroy, which means wallet users on those protections should see a warning. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it, so other researchers are tracking it too.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Cloudflare on 2026-10-13 and was already caught phishing three days later. That short gap fits a site set up quickly for one campaign. Traffic runs through Cloudflare's network (AS13335) on a US-located address, so the real origin server stays hidden. The free Let's Encrypt certificate gives the site a padlock icon, which says nothing about whether it is honest.
What to do
Do not connect a wallet, sign anything or deposit funds on stakovip.link. If you connected a wallet, use a token approval checker to revoke any permissions you granted there, and move remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you entered a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as fully compromised and transfer everything out immediately. Any funds already sent should be reported to your local cybercrime unit and to the exchange that handled the transfer. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, add it to wallet and browser warning lists, and alert users to STAKO-branded lures.
