How the scam works
Fake shops like this one copy the look of a niche retailer, here branded "boardgamebliss," and list popular games at prices that undercut legitimate stores. Shoppers add items to a cart, enter their name, delivery address and card details, and pay. The order then never arrives, arrives as a cheap substitute, or is stuck behind fake tracking until the window for a card dispute has closed. Victims lose the purchase amount, and their payment card and personal details can be reused for further fraud.
Evidence
On 2026-10-19, six of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, URLQuery and Webroot. That is a modest count, typical for young fake shops, but it comes from several unrelated vendors. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and specifically identified the page as a fake shop, which independently matches our classification. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-05-24, about five months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests either a period of quiet preparation or a store that ran for months before being caught. The site is hosted on a network operated by Malakmadze Web LLC, a provider registered in Georgia, while the server's IP address geolocates to the United States. The free Let's Encrypt certificate gives the shop a padlock in the browser, which says nothing about whether the store is legitimate.
What to do
If you ordered from bgbhub.shop, contact your bank or card issuer right away, report the charge as fraud, request a chargeback and ask for a replacement card. Do not wait for a delayed shipment or accept promises of a refund from the seller. Watch your statements for unfamiliar charges, and treat any follow-up emails or texts about your "order" as possible phishing. Security teams and payment providers should block the domain, flag transactions linked to the "boardgamebliss" storefront, and report the site to the registrar and hosting provider.
