How the scam works
Pages that clone World ID rely on the brand's association with verification and token rewards. They present a convincing "verify" or "claim" flow so that entering sensitive details feels routine. These clones typically ask visitors to connect a wallet, approve a request or type in a recovery phrase. Any of these steps can give the operator control of the victim's funds or account, and blockchain transfers made this way are rarely reversible.
Evidence
Six of 92 VirusTotal engines flag the domain as of 2026-10-11: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, Netcraft and SOCRadar. That count is modest, so many security products will still let the page load without a warning. The wallet-focused blocklists carry more weight here. MetaMask and SEAL both list the domain alongside PhishDestroy, and Spamhaus DBL classifies it as phishing.
