wayfarers-ledger.online is a phishing site that impersonates Ledger, the hardware wallet maker. It targets people who keep crypto on a Ledger device. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-09. On 2026-10-19 the site still responded, but the DNS for its content was inactive, so the phishing page may not load right now and could come back.
How the scam works
The page is titled "Wayfarer’s Ledger", which reads like a journal or travel name and does not spell out the hardware wallet brand, but we classified the site as Ledger impersonation. Ledger phishing pages usually claim the visitor needs to verify, sync or recover their device. They then ask for the 24-word recovery phrase or a wallet connection. A recovery phrase typed into such a page gives the operator full control of the wallet, and they can empty it from any device. Stolen crypto usually cannot be recovered.
Evidence
Ten of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-13. They include BitDefender, Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. Ten detections is modest, but these vendors work independently of each other and agree on the verdict. Beyond PhishDestroy, the domain is on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, which are both focused on crypto. Three AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it, so other researchers are tracking it too.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through GoDaddy.com, LLC on 2026-10-07, and we detected it two days later. That short gap matches the typical pattern for phishing: a fresh domain is put to use almost immediately. The site sits behind Cloudflare, Inc., with the address geolocated to Canada. Cloudflare's proxy hides the server that actually hosts the content.
What to do
If you typed your recovery phrase into this site, treat that wallet as compromised. Set up your Ledger with a brand-new phrase and move any remaining funds to it immediately. Ledger never asks for your 24 words on a website, in an app or through support. If you connected a software wallet, revoke any token approvals the site may have obtained. Security teams should block the domain and its lookalikes, and report sightings so new copies are taken down fast.
