Overview

w1-okx.com.cn is a phishing page that impersonates OKX, presenting itself in Chinese under the exchange's local name 欧易. It targets Chinese-speaking traders looking for the OKX app or exchange login. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-14, and as of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

The page title, 欧易 · okx下载 · 欧易交易所 ("OKX · OKX download · OKX exchange"), shows the lure: a fake download portal for someone searching for the official app. Pages like this usually push a counterfeit trading app or a lookalike login. That fake app or login then captures account credentials, 2FA codes or wallet recovery phrases, or it shows a fake balance and asks for deposits that cannot be withdrawn. The "w1-" prefix on a .com.cn domain mimics the numbered mirror links that real exchanges sometimes share, which makes the address look routine to users in China.

Evidence

On 2026-10-18, 13 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and LevelBlue. Urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognised the OKX brand on it. The domain is listed by MetaMask and SEAL as well as PhishDestroy, and it appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so several independent teams have reached the same conclusion.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-12 through 浙江贰贰网络有限公司, only two days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap points to a disposable domain set up for a quick campaign. It resolves to 179.61.182.123 on the OWGELS INTERNATIONAL network in Hong Kong. Its TLS certificate comes from TrustAsia's LiteSSL CA, so the browser padlock only confirms an encrypted connection, not that the site is genuine.

What to do

Get the OKX app only from the official site or an official app store. If you installed anything from this page, uninstall it and do not reopen it. If you entered your OKX login, change the password right away, reset 2FA, and check for unfamiliar devices, API keys or withdrawal addresses. If you typed in a wallet recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and move its funds to a newly created wallet. If the app asked you to deposit funds or pay "withdrawal fees", stop paying and report it to OKX support and local police. Defenders should block the domain and its IP, and watch for similarly numbered okx lookalikes on .com.cn.
