voters-moonshot.fun impersonated Moonshot, the memecoin trading app, behind a page titled "Vote to List — Powered by Moonshot." It targeted crypto users who follow new token launches and might expect a community vote to decide a listing. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-19. The site has been offline since 2026-09-20, and on 2026-10-19 its domain no longer resolved.
How the scam works
The "Vote to List" theme invites a victim to take part in a token listing vote, a request that sounds routine in memecoin communities. On pages like this, casting a vote usually means connecting a wallet and approving a prompt that hands control of tokens to the attacker, or typing in a seed phrase to verify eligibility. Either way, the victim can lose the assets in the connected wallet. Moonshot's branding gives the page credibility it has not earned.
Evidence
On 2026-09-19, four of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Kaspersky and LevelBlue. That count is low, but it is typical for a site caught within a day of going live. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and recognized Moonshot branding on the page. The domain is listed by MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL in addition to PhishDestroy, so users of those wallet protections were warned. It also appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through PublicDomainRegistry.com on 2026-09-18, one day before PhishDestroy detected it. It was dead by 2026-09-20, which points to a short-lived campaign built to run briefly and then be dropped. Traffic went through Cloudflare, Inc. with an address geolocated to Canada, so the real origin server was hidden behind the proxy. The certificate was a free Let's Encrypt one, which means the padlock in the browser said nothing about whether the site could be trusted.
What to do
If you connected a wallet to this page, use a token approval checker to revoke any permissions you granted, and move your remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you typed in a seed phrase, treat the wallet as compromised and empty it immediately. Moonshot listings are not decided by votes on outside websites, so ignore similar "vote to list" invitations. Defenders should block the domain and look for lookalike Moonshot domains registered around the same time on the .fun TLD.
