usdccryptotocad.lol is an impersonation phishing page that presented itself as a quick way to turn USDC stablecoins into Canadian dollars, under the title "Convert USDC to CAD Instantly | Secure & Best Exchange Rates". Its audience was crypto holders in Canada searching for an off-ramp. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-11. The site went offline on 2026-09-12, and as of 2026-10-19 its domain no longer resolves.

How the scam works

Fake conversion sites like this one copy the look and language of a legitimate exchange. They promise instant settlement and better-than-market rates so that visitors send USDC to a deposit address or connect a wallet. Once the stablecoins are sent, no Canadian dollars arrive, and the transfer cannot be reversed on-chain. Some variants follow up with invented "verification" or "withdrawal fees" to extract more money, or harvest the banking and identity details victims enter for the payout. urlscan.io tagged the page with a generic gambling brand, while the title advertises a currency exchange. We classify it as exchange impersonation.

Evidence

On 2026-09-16, 16 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as malicious, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar and Chong Lua Dao. That is a substantial consensus for a site that was live for only a short time. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict. Beyond PhishDestroy, the domain is on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, so wallet users received warnings. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through GMO Internet Group (Onamae.com) on 2026-06-25, about eleven weeks before it surfaced as a threat. That gap is typical of domains registered in advance and activated later for a campaign. It was hosted on the POWER LINE DATACENTER network in Chile. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate produced a browser padlock, but that only means the connection was encrypted. It does not support the "Secure" claim in the page title.

What to do

If you sent USDC to an address this site gave you, treat the funds as lost. Record the transaction hash and report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and to the platform you sent from. Do not pay any fee, tax or unlock charge that promises to release a payout, and be wary of "recovery services" that contact you afterward. If you connected a wallet, revoke any token approvals granted during the visit and move remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you entered banking or ID details, alert your bank and watch for identity misuse. Defenders should block the domain and check logs for traffic to it between 2026-06-25 and 2026-09-12.
