How the scam works
The page presents itself under the title "Stremio - Freedom to Stream", copying the official branding so it looks like the genuine download or account page. Lookalike software sites like this typically exploit the trust in a known name. They push visitors toward a fake installer, a sign-in form or a payment prompt that has nothing to do with the real product. Victims risk handing over account credentials or payment details, or installing software from an untrusted source. The redirect means the domain can quietly forward visitors to wherever the operator currently sends traffic.

On 2026-09-06, 15 of 90 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Detections came from alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Certego, CRDF, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and Fortinet.
