Overview

solanadrop.cc is a crypto wallet drainer that impersonates the Solana brand to target holders of SOL and Wrapped SOL tokens. The site presents itself as a legitimate Solana airdrop event, enticing visitors to connect their wallets in exchange for promised free tokens. PhishDestroy first identified it on 2026-10-09, eight days after its registration. As of 2026-10-18 the site remains alive, though its DNS is currently inactive.

How the scam works

The page, titled "Wrapped SOL | AirDrop", mimics an official Solana token distribution to convince visitors they are claiming a genuine airdrop. When a user connects their wallet to receive the promised tokens, the embedded Solana Drainer kit silently requests broad spending approvals or initiates unauthorized transfer transactions. The victim loses SOL, Wrapped SOL, or any other tokens the drainer can reach before the user realizes what has happened.

Evidence

Eight of 92 engines on VirusTotal flagged solanadrop.cc as malicious as of 2026-10-13, with detections from alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky, LevelBlue, SOCRadar, and Sophos. The domain also appears on four independent blocklists: PhishDestroy, MetaMask, ScamSniffer, and SEAL. The combination of multiple reputable security vendors and dedicated crypto-threat feeds provides strong independent corroboration of the drainer classification.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-01 through NameSilo, LLC, giving the operator just eight days of lead time before PhishDestroy detected it. It is hosted on Cloudflare, Inc. infrastructure at an IP geolocated to Canada, and its TLS certificate was issued by Let's Encrypt under the YE1 authority. The short registration-to-deployment window is consistent with disposable infrastructure built for a single campaign.

What to do

If you visited solanadrop.cc and connected a wallet, immediately revoke all token approvals granted during that session using a trusted approval-management tool, then transfer remaining assets to a fresh wallet address. Do not approve any pending transactions originating from that interaction, and check your transaction history for unauthorized transfers.
