Overview

skypayfin-ance.live is an impersonation phishing page. Its name splits the word "finance" with a hyphen so it reads at a glance like a legitimate SkyPay finance or payments brand, a lookalike aimed at people who expect to reach that service. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-10-07. It was still online and serving content when we last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Visitors first see a page titled "Bot Verification", a familiar-looking checkpoint that makes the site feel routine and trustworthy before it asks for anything. The visible title shows a verification screen, while our classification is impersonation phishing based on the lookalike brand domain. Sites of this type steer visitors from the fake check to a copy of the brand's sign-in or payment flow. Anything typed there, such as account logins, one-time codes or card and payment details, goes straight to the operators, who can then take over the account or move funds.

Evidence

On 2026-10-11, 6 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, Netcraft, SOCRadar and desenmascara.me. That is a modest share of engines, but it includes Netcraft and other phishing-focused services, which counts for more than the raw number. The domain also appears in 3 AlienVault OTX pulses, so other researchers have tracked it independently. It is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-06 through Global Domain Group LLC, and we detected it one day later. A gap that short points to a site built to be used right away rather than a long-standing business. It is hosted in the United States on the PONYNET network operated by FranTech Solutions. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a browser padlock, which only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about who runs the site.

What to do

If you passed the "Bot Verification" step and entered a login on this site, change that password at once on the real service and anywhere you reused it. Then turn on or reset two-factor authentication and sign out of all active sessions. If you entered card or banking details, contact your card issuer to block the card and dispute any charges you don't recognise. Reach the genuine service only through its official app or a bookmark you saved yourself. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP at DNS and proxy level, and search mail and web logs for users who visited it after 2026-10-06.
