PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

sendusdtbep20.network presented itself as a "BNB Smart Chain Payment" page, and its name targets anyone trying to send USDT over the BEP-20 network. PhishDestroy classifies it as impersonation phishing and first flagged it on 2026-08-09. The site went offline on 2026-09-20, and its DNS was still inactive when we last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake payment pages like this copy the look of a legitimate chain checkout or transfer tool. A victim who arrives expecting to pay an invoice or move USDT is asked to connect a wallet or approve a transaction. That step can quietly authorize token spending or send funds straight to the operator. On BNB Smart Chain such transfers are final, so a signed approval or payment usually cannot be reversed.

Evidence

Seven of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-14: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, PhishFort and SOCRadar. That is a modest count, but it includes PhishFort, a vendor focused on crypto phishing. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing (DBL_PHISH), which helps block it at the mail and resolver level. Three AlienVault OTX pulses also reference the domain.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through GoDaddy.com, LLC. It was served from Amazon.com, Inc. network space with a Canadian location. Its TLS certificate was a domain-validated certificate from GoDaddy, so the padlock only showed that the connection was encrypted. It said nothing about who ran the site. A descriptive, keyword-heavy name on a generic network is typical of single-purpose lures that are put up quickly and thrown away.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site, use a token-approval checker for BNB Smart Chain to review and revoke any allowances you granted. Then move remaining assets to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not understand. If you sent USDT, record the transaction hash and report it to the exchange or service involved, and never trust "recovery" offers that come afterward. Only send BEP-20 payments to addresses confirmed through the recipient's official channel. Defenders should block the domain and watch for similarly named payment lures on the same network.
