samriddhiriseu.github.io was a phishing page posing as Amazon, titled simply "Amazon", and hosted on a free GitHub Pages subdomain. How the scam works
Amazon impersonation pages copy the brand's look and title so a visitor arriving from a fake order, delivery or account-suspension message sees what appears to be a routine login. Whatever the victim types, typically email, password, one-time codes and sometimes card or billing details, goes straight to the operator. With those credentials an attacker can place orders, change the account's contact details, harvest stored payment methods or reuse the password on other services. A github.io address helps the lure because it carries a familiar, trusted parent domain rather than an obviously odd one.
Evidence
urlscan.io rated the page malicious and its brand detection matched Amazon, which is the core of this classification. VirusTotal told a different story: on 2026-09-12, none of its 89 engines flagged the site, so a clean result there would have offered visitors no protection. PhishDestroy is currently the only blocklist carrying this domain.
Infrastructure
The 2013-03-08 registration date and MarkMonitor, Inc. as registrar belong to GitHub's github.io domain, not to whoever created this page. Any account can publish a subdomain there within minutes, so domain age tells you nothing about how long this particular operation existed. Traffic was served from the Fastly network (AS54113) in the US, the content delivery layer behind GitHub Pages. This free, disposable setup lets an operator spin up a copycat page and abandon it as soon as it is reported.
