How the scam works
The page title, "$PAID allocation boxes · PAID", presents the site as an official distribution round where visitors can open or claim a token allocation. Fake allocation and claim pages usually ask the visitor to connect a wallet and then approve a transaction or sign a message presented as the claim step. That signature or approval can give the operator control over tokens in the wallet, which are then moved out. The promised $PAID allocation never arrives.
Evidence
Ten of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-10-07, including alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Ermes, ESET, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and Netcraft. That is broad agreement for a domain found within two days of registration. It also appears on wallet-focused blocklists run by MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL, alongside PhishDestroy, so many wallet users would see a warning before interacting with it. Spamhaus lists it in its DBL as spam, and four AlienVault OTX pulses reference it.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-10-05 through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED, and PhishDestroy detected it on 2026-10-07. That short gap fits a campaign domain set up for one claim event rather than a lasting site. The site sat behind Cloudflare, Inc. at an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. It used a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser said nothing about whether the site was legitimate.
What to do
If you connected a wallet to rounds-usepaid.xyz and signed anything, review and revoke token approvals and permits granted around that time. Move any remaining assets to a fresh wallet, because a malicious signature can keep working after the page goes offline. Never type a seed phrase into a claim or allocation page. Check PAID announcements only through the project's verified channels. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, watch for lookalike "usepaid" or "rounds" domains on new registrations, and report any related wallet addresses to the blocklist maintainers named above.
