PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

rb88-google.com.cn is an impersonation phishing site that puts the Google brand in its domain name to look trustworthy, and it is aimed at Chinese-speaking visitors. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-10-15. As of 2026-10-19 the site is online and still serving content. Its page title, "rb88官网·(中国区)官方网站", presents it as the official China-region website of "rb88" rather than as a Google property, while we classify it as Google impersonation.

How the scam works

Sites like this attach a famous brand to an unrelated domain so that a link in an ad, search result or chat message looks safe at a glance. Once visitors trust the page, they are pushed to register, log in or deposit funds. Anything they enter, including usernames, passwords, phone numbers or payment details, goes to the operators. Money sent through the site is usually unrecoverable.

Evidence

On 2026-10-18, 7 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky, SOCRadar and VIPRE. Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-17 through 广东时代互联科技有限公司, less than a month before PhishDestroy detected it. It resolves to 172.247.153.69 on the POWER LINE DATACENTER network in the United States. Its TLS certificate comes from Let's Encrypt (YE1), so the padlock in the browser proves only an encrypted connection, not a legitimate operator.

If you shared payment details, contact your bank or payment provider to block the card and dispute any charges.
