pancakeiswap.finance is an impersonation phishing page posing as PancakeSwap, the decentralized exchange. It targets traders and liquidity providers who might mistake the extra "i" in the domain for the real brand. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-24. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.
How the scam works
The page is titled simply "PancakeSwap," so a browser tab or search result looks like the genuine exchange. Fake swap sites like this push visitors to connect a wallet and then present transactions dressed up as routine swaps, approvals or claims. Some also ask for a recovery phrase to "fix" a supposed sync error. Signing a malicious approval lets the operator move approved tokens out of the wallet, and handing over a seed phrase gives away the entire wallet.
Evidence
On 2026-10-07, 11 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, CyRadar, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Gridinsoft. That is a minority of engines, but it is consistent with other sources. MetaMask and SEAL both list the domain, so many wallet users should see a warning before connecting. Spamhaus DBL lists it specifically as phishing, and the domain appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through GoDaddy.com, LLC on 2025-10-07, about ten and a half months before PhishDestroy detected it. Such a long gap suggests the name was held in reserve or used quietly before this campaign. The site resolves to 76.223.105.230 on Amazon's network in the United States. Its certificate is a domain-validated Starfield certificate, which proves only control of the domain and says nothing about who runs it. The padlock in the address bar is no sign of legitimacy.
What to do
Do not connect a wallet or sign anything on pancakeiswap.finance, and reach PancakeSwap only through a saved bookmark you trust. If you connected and approved any transaction, review your token approvals with a revocation tool and cancel unfamiliar ones. Move remaining assets to a fresh wallet if anything looks wrong. If you typed your recovery phrase into the site, treat that wallet as lost and transfer everything you can to a new wallet with a newly generated seed immediately. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and alert DeFi users to lookalike PancakeSwap domains.
