nycdsj.live is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as NYC DanceSport Japan. Its page title describes the studio as a dance school in Tenmabashi that opened in August 2016. The likely targets are the studio's students, people booking lessons and anyone searching for it online. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-09-15. It went offline on 2026-09-16, and at the last check on 2026-10-19 the content was still blocked by the provider. The page title describes a legitimate dance studio, while our classification marks the site as impersonation phishing.
How the scam works
Impersonation pages copy the name, text and look of a real business so visitors believe they are on its official site. A copied studio site can be used to collect names, contact details and login credentials, or to take payments for lessons, memberships or event entries that the real studio never receives. Victims can lose the money they paid and the personal or account details they entered, which can then be reused for follow-up scams.
Evidence
VirusTotal showed 16 of 89 security engines flagging the domain on 2026-09-17, just two days after we first saw it. The vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and CyRadar. Agreement among independent engines this soon after discovery is strong confirmation. The domain also appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses and in the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc on 2026-08-06, about 40 days before we detected it. That short gap fits a domain bought specifically for this campaign rather than an older site that was compromised. The site sat behind Cloudflare's network, with an address geolocated to Canada, so the origin server is hidden from view. The certificate from Google Trust Services means the browser padlock showed, but that does not make the site legitimate.
What to do
If you paid for lessons or memberships through nycdsj.live, contact your bank or card issuer, report the charge as fraud and ask about a chargeback. If you created an account or entered a password there, change that password everywhere you reused it and turn on two-factor authentication. Be cautious of follow-up emails or messages that claim to come from the studio, and confirm bookings only through contact details you know are genuine. Defenders should block the domain, watch for similar lookalikes on other domain extensions, and report any new copies to the hosting provider and registrar.
