As of 2026-10-19 the domain still responds, but its content DNS is inactive, so the phishing page is not currently loading.
How the scam works
Fake MetaMask pages copy the wallet's branding so a visitor believes they are dealing with the real extension or a support flow. The usual hook is a prompt to "restore", "verify" or "sync" the wallet by typing in the Secret Recovery Phrase or private key. Some versions ask the visitor to connect a wallet and approve a transaction. Anyone holding a recovery phrase controls the wallet outright, so a victim who enters it can lose every asset in every account derived from it, with no way to reverse the transfers.
Evidence
On 2026-10-18, 17 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. The flagging vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Emsisoft, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and Ermes. urlscan.io rated it malicious and tagged it as generic crypto phishing. Spamhaus lists it in DBL as phishing. MetaMask's own blocklist and SEAL list it alongside PhishDestroy, which means the impersonated brand itself has confirmed the abuse. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference the domain.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc on 2026-10-12, only two days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short window is typical of throwaway phishing domains set up for a quick campaign. The site sits behind Cloudflare in the US, which hides the actual origin server. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives the browser padlock, which proves nothing about who runs the site.
What to do
If you typed your Secret Recovery Phrase or private key on this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet with a fresh phrase on a clean device and move any remaining funds to it immediately. If you connected a wallet or signed something there, revoke token approvals with a reputable allowance checker. MetaMask never asks for your recovery phrase through a website. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for lookalike domains registered in the same pattern.
