PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

kyc.digitalmps.app is an impersonation phishing page. Its "kyc" subdomain frames it as an identity-verification checkpoint, the kind of step users expect from legitimate financial or crypto services. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-13. As of 2026-10-19 the site is still online, and its content loads behind a protective challenge.

How the scam works

KYC-themed impersonation pages tell victims their account is restricted or a withdrawal is on hold until they "verify" their identity. The form then collects whatever the operator can use: login credentials, one-time codes, ID document scans, selfies, and sometimes wallet recovery phrases. The page currently shows the title "Just a moment...", a generic browser-check interstitial rather than branded content, while our classification is impersonation phishing. Victims risk account takeover and long-term identity fraud from any documents they upload.

Evidence

On 2026-09-21, VirusTotal showed 12 of 89 engines flagging the domain. The flagging vendors include BitDefender, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Lionic. Several independent engines reached the same verdict within about a week of our first sighting, which supports the classification. Among blocklists, it currently appears only on PhishDestroy's, so many browsers and filters may still let it load.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-02-19, nearly seven months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap fits a domain that was held in reserve or used quietly before this campaign surfaced. Both registration and hosting run through Cloudflare, Inc., on an address geolocated to Canada. The Let's Encrypt certificate only means the connection is encrypted, so the padlock icon says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you submitted a password or 2FA code here, change that password right away on the real service and on any account that shares it. Reset your two-factor setup and review active sessions for logins you don't recognize. If you uploaded ID documents or a selfie, watch for accounts opened in your name and consider a credit freeze where available. If you entered a wallet recovery phrase, treat the wallet as compromised and move your funds to a new one. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and alert users that genuine KYC requests never arrive through unsolicited links.
