AI-assisted evidence review
finderdrop.click is an impersonation phishing site. It copies a legitimate service so that visitors trust it with credentials or wallet access. The 'drop' in the name fits the airdrop and giveaway lures common in crypto phishing. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-14. On 2026-10-19 the domain still answered, but its DNS no longer pointed to active phishing content.
The page carries the bare title 'Loading', which is all a visitor sees in the browser tab. The tab shows no brand name, even though we classified the site as impersonation. Pages built this way typically show a spinner, then a copy of a familiar login or wallet-connect screen. Anything entered there goes to the operators: passwords, one-time codes or a recovery phrase. With those, they can take over the account or empty the wallet before the victim notices.
On 2026-09-24, VirusTotal showed 6 of 89 engines flagging the domain. The flags came from alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a low count, but the vendors are independent of each other and reached the same conclusion. Spamhaus also lists the domain in its DBL as a spam source. It appears in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tied it to malicious activity. PhishDestroy's blocklist carries it as well.
The domain was registered on 2026-07-21 through Global Domain Group LLC. That is about eight weeks before we caught it, enough time to set it up and start spreading links. It was hosted on the UFO TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED network in Great Britain. The free Let's Encrypt certificate means the padlock icon only shows an encrypted connection, not a trustworthy site.
If you typed a password into finderdrop.click, change it on the real service right away. Change it anywhere else you reused it, and reset two-factor authentication. If you entered a recovery phrase or private key, treat that wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet on a clean device and move any remaining funds there. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and search mail and chat logs for links to it. Watch for lookalike .click domains, since the setup can easily return under a new name.
