How the scam works

Whichever route is used, the losses are the same: drained funds or a wallet that is fully compromised, and blockchain transfers cannot be reversed.

On 2026-09-27, VirusTotal showed 4 of 91 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and SOCRadar. Among blocklists, it currently appears on PhishDestroy's.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through GoDaddy.com, LLC on 2026-03-20, about six months before PhishDestroy detected it. That long gap suggests it was set up well in advance or ran unnoticed for a while. Traffic passes through Cloudflare's network, with the serving address located in Canada, so the actual origin server is hidden. The Let's Encrypt certificate gives the page a padlock, but that only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
What to do
If you connected a wallet to eth-999.cc, use a token-approval checker to revoke any permissions you granted, and move your remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you sent ETH because the site told you to, do not send more to "unlock" or "verify" anything, and report the transaction to the exchange you sent it from.
