PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

erebor.casa is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself simply as "Erebor". It borrows that brand name to win the trust of crypto users and wallet holders who believe they are dealing with the real service. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-13. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content, so it remains a live risk.

How the scam works

The page carries the title "Erebor" and sits on a casual .casa domain rather than anything the genuine brand would use. Impersonation sites like this mirror a trusted name closely enough that visitors log in, enter recovery details, or connect a wallet without a second look. Whatever the victim types or signs goes to the operators. That can mean taken-over accounts, an exposed seed phrase, or wallet permissions that let funds be moved out.

Evidence

Wallet-security blocklists back the classification. MetaMask and SEAL both list the domain alongside PhishDestroy, so many wallet users will already see a warning. VirusTotal coverage was thin on 2026-10-17, with 5 of 92 engines flagging it: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. A clean result from most scanners therefore does not mean the site is safe. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers are tracking it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-12 and reached our blocklist one day later. That speed fits a site created for a short phishing run rather than a lasting business. Registration is through Cloudflare, Inc., and the site resolves to 104.21.6.72 on Cloudflare's US network, which hides the real origin server. Its certificate comes from Google Trust Services (WE1), so the browser padlock appears normal and says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
