PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

dezentracore.icu presents itself as "DezentraCore", a crypto-themed brand built to look like a legitimate decentralized service. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page aimed at cryptocurrency holders. We first detected it on 2026-10-09. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its scam content, so anyone landing on it today faces a working trap.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages like DezentraCore borrow the look and vocabulary of real crypto projects so visitors trust them enough to act. The usual next step is a prompt to connect a wallet, sign a transaction, enter a recovery phrase, or deposit funds into a platform that does not exist. urlscan.io tagged the page as a generic crypto scam rather than a copy of one named brand, which fits an invented identity designed to sound credible. Victims typically lose whatever they sign over or send, and a leaked seed phrase hands over the entire wallet.

Evidence

Fifteen of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain when checked on 2026-10-13. The flagging vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict. Crucially for wallet users, the domain sits on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy's own, and it appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so several independent groups reached the same conclusion.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-15 through GLOBAL ASSET DOMAINS INC, just 24 days before PhishDestroy caught it. That short gap is typical of throwaway scam domains on cheap extensions like .icu. Traffic runs through Cloudflare, with the edge address geolocated to Canada, which hides where the real server sits. The Let's Encrypt certificate only means the connection is encrypted, and the padlock says nothing about whether the site is honest.

What to do

Do not connect a wallet, sign anything, or deposit funds on dezentracore.icu. If you already connected a wallet, revoke any token approvals granted to unfamiliar contracts with a trusted approval-revocation tool. Then move remaining assets to a fresh wallet if you signed unclear transactions. If you typed a seed phrase or private key into the site, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer funds out immediately. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and report it to Cloudflare and the registrar.
