PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-19, and the site was still live with its content intact on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
Encrypted note services promise that a pasted secret can be read once and then disappears, which is why people use them for passwords, private keys and recovery phrases. A lookalike that copies the branding and the "secure encrypted" promise gives the operator no reason to honor that guarantee. Whatever a visitor types into it, or opens through a link pointing to it, can be read by whoever runs the copy. For a crypto user, a leaked seed phrase or private key means the wallet can be emptied without any further interaction.
Evidence
On 2026-09-29, 12 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, CyRadar, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Gridinsoft. That is a minority of engines, but it is a spread of independent vendors. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy's own, so two crypto-focused security efforts reached the same conclusion separately.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through GoDaddy.com, LLC on 2026-07-23, about eight weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. It is hosted on the IONOS SE network in Spain. The free, automatically issued Let's Encrypt certificate gives the page a padlock in the browser, which says nothing about who runs it.
What to do
If you pasted a seed phrase or private key into this site, or opened a note shared through it, treat that secret as compromised. Create a new wallet on a trusted device and move your funds there right away. Change any password or credential you shared through the page, and enable 2FA wherever it is available. If you send secrets to others, type the genuine service's address by hand and check its spelling letter by letter. Defenders should block crypgeon.com at the DNS and proxy level and flag typosquats of Cryptgeon in mail and chat filters.
