How the scam works
The page presents itself as "Compound TRX — Where Markets Meet Innovation", borrowing the brand's DeFi credibility to look like an official lending or yield market. Pages like this usually ask visitors to connect a wallet and then request a transaction, a token approval or a signature. That grants the operator control over the visitor's assets. Some variants instead ask for a seed phrase under the pretext of syncing or verifying the wallet. Either way, the victim can lose whatever the connected wallet holds, and an unlimited approval keeps the risk alive after the browser tab is closed.
Evidence
On 2026-09-23, 12 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They included Kaspersky, BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. Wallet-focused defenders agree: MetaMask and SEAL both list it, alongside PhishDestroy. Spamhaus classifies it in its DBL as phishing, and four AlienVault OTX pulses reference it. That gives several independent sources backing the classification.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc on 2026-09-10, just two days before PhishDestroy detected it. A domain put to use that quickly is typical of throwaway phishing setups built for a short campaign. It is hosted on the Materialism s.r.l. network in Sweden. Its Let's Encrypt certificate only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the site is legitimate. More than five weeks after first detection, the site was still live.
What to do
Do not connect a wallet or sign anything on this site. If you already connected, use a token-approval checker to revoke any permissions you granted, and move remaining funds to a fresh wallet if you approved or signed transactions.
