PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

com-perp.icu is an impersonation phishing site aimed at crypto users. Its "com-" prefix mimics a .com address, and "perp" suggests a perpetual-futures trading platform. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-17, two days after registration. The site went offline on 2026-09-18, and its DNS was still inactive when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages copy the look and wording of a real service. The goal is to get visitors to hand over logins, recovery phrases or wallet signatures they would only give the genuine platform. The page carried the title "Service Status", which reads like a routine outage notice rather than a branded login screen, while we classify the site as impersonation phishing. Status and maintenance themes are commonly used to push users toward a "fix", re-verification or wallet reconnection. Anything entered or signed on such a page goes straight to the operator.

Evidence

Several independent sources agree this is phishing. On 2026-09-17, 5 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged it: Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, SOCRadar and Sophos. That count is modest, but it was reached within two days of registration. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as a phishing domain. Beyond PhishDestroy, the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists carry it, which points directly at crypto wallet users. Four AlienVault OTX pulses also reference it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-15 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. and was detected two days later. It was then dead within one more day, the short lifespan typical of disposable phishing domains. Traffic ran through Cloudflare, Inc. with a Canadian location, so the address shown belongs to a proxy network rather than the actual origin server. The cheap .icu extension and the deceptive "com-" naming fit a throwaway setup built for quick use.

What to do

If you typed a password or 2FA code into this site, change that password immediately, reset 2FA and review recent account activity. If you entered a seed phrase, treat the wallet as compromised and move your funds to a new wallet created on a clean device. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, revoke token approvals granted around 2026-09-17 with a trusted approval-checking tool. Always reach trading platforms by typing their address yourself, never through status or alert links. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and search logs for any visits since 2026-09-15.
