Overview

coingekco.cash is an impersonation phishing page whose domain is a transposed-letter misspelling of CoinGecko, the cryptocurrency price and market-data site. Its Spanish-language page targets Spanish-speaking crypto users who might mistype the brand or click a lookalike link. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-10-17. As of 2026-10-19, the site was still online with its content live.

How the scam works

The page is titled "Coingekco — Información clara sobre blockchain y activos digitales", which translates to "clear information about blockchain and digital assets." That title presents an informational resource, while our classification is impersonation phishing. Schemes like this borrow a trusted crypto brand's name so visitors lower their guard. They then steer visitors toward entering wallet credentials or recovery phrases, connecting a wallet, or following links to fraudulent services. Anyone who acts on those prompts can lose account access or the assets in their wallet.
