citrospak.xyz is an impersonation phishing site aimed at crypto users. It was built to pass itself off as a legitimate service so visitors would trust it with their details. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-17, and it went offline that same day. As of 2026-10-19 the domain no longer resolves in DNS.
How the scam works
Impersonation pages copy the look, wording and login flow of a real platform. The goal is for a visitor to type in credentials, one-time codes or a wallet recovery phrase without suspecting anything. Whatever is entered goes straight to the operator, who can then take over the account or empty the wallet. When last served, the page showed only a "403 Forbidden" title, while we classified the domain as impersonation phishing.
Evidence
Six of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-17: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, Netcraft and SOCRadar. That is a modest count, but these are independent vendors that reached the same verdict separately. Spamhaus also lists the domain on its DBL as a spam domain, which points to abuse beyond a single report. It appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and PhishDestroy carries it on its own blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc on 2026-04-18, about five months before it surfaced as phishing. Holding a domain that long before using it is a common way to avoid the extra scrutiny that brand-new registrations attract. The site was hosted on FranTech Solutions in Luxembourg. With its DNS now inactive, the domain no longer points anywhere.
What to do
If you entered a password on this site, change it right away on the real service and on any other account that uses the same password, then turn on app-based two-factor authentication. If you typed a wallet recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and move its funds to a new wallet with a freshly generated phrase. Check recent account activity for logins or withdrawals you don't recognize. Defenders should block citrospak.xyz at DNS and proxy level and search past logs for any users who reached it before it went offline on 2026-09-17.
