birdygreyshop.shop is a fake online store whose name borrows from Birdy Grey, the bridesmaid-dress retailer, and whose page is titled "Bridesmaid Gowns." It targets brides and bridal parties looking for matching dresses at a good price. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-10-16. As of 2026-10-19 the shop was still online and serving its storefront.
How the scam works
Shops like this copy the look and product range of a known brand, then undercut its prices to rush buyers to checkout. The buyer pays for gowns that never arrive, or receives cheap items that look nothing like the photos, with no working way to return them. Checkout forms also capture names, addresses, phone numbers and card details. These can be reused for fraud or sold. Wedding orders are often placed for several bridesmaids at once, so a single purchase can mean a large loss, and a missed delivery date.
Evidence
12 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-10-16, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, alphaMountain.ai and CyRadar. That is a minority of engines, but several of them are major security vendors that reached the same verdict independently. urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically identified it as a fake shop. It also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-05-20, about five months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap is long enough for a storefront to collect search traffic or ad clicks before anyone flags it. The site is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in Georgia (GE), at 162.222.90.254. A free Let's Encrypt certificate gives it the padlock icon, which proves nothing about whether the seller is real.
What to do
If you paid on this site, contact your card issuer or bank right away. Report the transaction as fraud and request a chargeback, citing goods not received or not as described. Do not pay any extra "customs" or "shipping" fees the seller asks for, and treat follow-up emails or calls about your order as possible phishing. If you created an account there, change that password anywhere you reused it. To buy from the real brand, go to its official site directly rather than following ads or search results. Defenders should block the domain and 162.222.90.254 at DNS and proxy level, and watch for other look-alike domains built on the Birdy Grey name.
