bigwphotosonline.shop is a fake online shop dressed up as BIG W Photos, the photo printing service of the Australian retailer BIG W. Its page title, "Online Photo Printing - Your Reliable Photo Printing Store | BIGW Photos", is built to look like the real store to anyone searching for prints, canvases or photo gifts. PhishDestroy first flagged the site on 2026-10-16. As of 2026-10-19 its content was unreachable.
How the scam works
Fake photo printing stores copy a familiar brand's name and look, then advertise low prices or limited-time discounts to pull in orders. The victim uploads pictures, enters a delivery address and pays by card. The prints never arrive, or something cheap and unrelated turns up instead. The operators keep the payment, the card details and the personal information, and that information can feed later fraud attempts. Anyone who uploaded family photos has also handed private images to an unknown party.
Evidence
On 2026-10-16, five of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and Netcraft. That is a small share, which is common for young shop scams, but it includes vendors that track fraudulent storefronts specifically. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified the page as a fake shop, which independently supports our classification. The domain also appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-07-14, about three months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap gives operators time to build the storefront and buy ads before anyone flags the site. The site is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network, registered in Georgia, with the server geolocated to the United States. The .shop extension and a brand-plus-keyword name are typical of disposable scam storefronts that get replaced once blocked.
What to do
If you paid on this site, contact your card issuer now, report the transaction as fraud and ask about a chargeback. Request a new card number so the stolen details stop working. Watch your statements for small test charges. Be suspicious of emails, texts or calls about your "order" or a refund, since these often lead to a second round of fraud. If you created an account with a password you use elsewhere, change it on those other services. Defenders and retailers should block the domain, watch for similar lookalikes using the BIG W Photos name, and report abuse to the registrar and hosting provider.
