PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

bicycleexpresshub.shop is a fake online shop that presents itself as "Adelaide's Leading Bike Store | Bicycle Express." It borrows the name and local credibility of an Australian bicycle retailer to attract cyclists looking for a deal on a new bike or gear. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-16. As of 2026-10-19 the site is still online and its storefront is fully live.

How the scam works

Shops like this copy the look of a real bike retailer and list popular bikes and components at prices well below normal retail. Buyers are pushed to check out quickly, often with "limited stock" or "clearance" claims. Payment is taken, but nothing arrives, or a cheap item unrelated to the order is shipped. Victims lose the purchase price. The name, address and card details they typed at checkout can also be reused for further fraud.

Evidence

urlscan.io rates the site malicious and specifically identifies it as a fake shop, which matches our classification. On VirusTotal, 6 of 92 engines flagged it on 2026-10-16: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and Netcraft. That count is modest, so many browsers and security tools may still let the page load without a warning. The domain also appears in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-05-27, about four and a half months before we detected it. Fake shops often age a domain like this before they start advertising. The site is hosted in the United States on the Malakmadze Web LLC network, even though it claims to be an Adelaide business. Its padlock comes from a free Let's Encrypt certificate, which only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the shop is genuine.

If you paid on this site, contact your bank or card issuer right away to dispute the charge and ask for a chargeback. Keep the order confirmation and any emails as proof. Watch your card statements for unfamiliar charges, and consider replacing the card if you entered its full details.
