PhishDestroy threat report
bakingsteelhome.shop poses as a storefront for Baking Steel, the maker of steel pizza-baking plates. Its page title is "Create Restaurant-Style Pizza in Your Kitchen | Baking Steel", and it is aimed at home cooks shopping for premium bakeware. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-10 and classifies it as impersonation phishing. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its shop content.
Fake shops like this copy a real brand's look and product pitch, then add steep discounts to rush shoppers to checkout. The victim enters a name, delivery address and payment card details and pays for a baking steel that never arrives. The card data may also be reused or sold for further fraud. The "home" domain on a .shop extension is meant to read like an official brand outlet, but it is not run by Baking Steel.
On 2026-10-12, 10 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. The vendors named include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, ESET, G-Data, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and Netcraft. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and specifically identified it as a fake shop, which matches our classification. The domain appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers are tracking it independently.
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-06-13, almost four months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap fits a scam storefront left to age or quietly attract traffic before it drew attention. It resolves to 91.246.50.210 on the Malakmadze Web LLC network, which is registered in Georgia, while the server itself geolocates to the United States. The free Let's Encrypt certificate gives the shop a padlock icon, but that only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about who runs the site.
If you paid on this site, call your card issuer right away. Report the charge as fraud, ask for a chargeback and request a replacement card. Watch your statements for unfamiliar small test charges. If you created an account here, change that password anywhere you reused it. Expect phishing emails or calls that use your order details. To buy Baking Steel products, go to the brand's official site or a known retailer. Security teams should block the domain and its IP and report it to the registrar and hosting provider.
