PhishDestroy classifies it as an e-commerce scam: a fake shop built to take payments from golf enthusiasts and gift buyers. We first detected it on 2026-10-10. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online with its storefront content live.
How the scam works
Fake shops copy the look of a niche retailer, here a golf publisher, and lure buyers with steep discounts or hard-to-find titles. The shopper adds books to a cart, enters a name, delivery address and card details at checkout, and pays. The order then never ships, or a cheap unrelated item arrives so the seller can claim delivery. The victim loses the purchase price and hands over payment and personal details that can be reused for fraud or targeted phishing.
Evidence
On 2026-10-15, 8 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue, SOCRadar, URLQuery and Webroot. That is a minority of engines, but the vendors come from different detection families, which makes coincidence unlikely. urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically marked it as a fake shop. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-04-21, roughly five and a half months before we detected it. A gap like this can let a domain build a short history before the shop starts taking orders. The site is served from a network operated by Malakmadze Web LLC, registered in Georgia, while the hosting IP geolocates to the United States.
What to do
If you paid on back9shop.shop, contact your bank or card issuer right away, report the transaction as fraud and ask for a chargeback. Do not accept offers of partial refunds that require more payments or extra personal details. Expect follow-up phishing sent to the email and phone number you entered. If you created an account, change that password anywhere you reused it.
