Its targets are German-speaking sneaker and streetwear buyers hunting for discounted releases. The name itself plays on the real brand: "aurum" is Latin for gold and "road" stands in for asphalt. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-08. As of 2026-10-19 the domain was still registered, but its DNS no longer pointed to the shop, so it could come back online at any time.
How the scam works
Fake shops like this copy a trusted retailer's look and language, then list in-demand products at prices just low enough to rush a purchase. The buyer enters a delivery address and pays, usually by card or bank transfer. The order then either never arrives or is replaced by worthless goods. Victims lose the purchase money, and they also hand over their name, address, email and payment details, which can be reused for further fraud.

Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-05-11, about 150 days before PhishDestroy detected it. That long gap suggests it may have been registered in advance and held before the shop went live. The site was hosted in the United States on the network of Malakmadze Web LLC. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate gave it the padlock icon, which proves nothing about who runs the shop.
What to do
If you paid aurumroad.shop, contact your card issuer or bank right away to dispute the charge or recall the transfer. Mention that the merchant impersonated Asphaltgold. Watch for follow-up emails, texts or calls offering refunds or delivery updates, since scammers use these to take a second payment. Change any password you reused when creating an account there. Defenders should block the domain and check mail and proxy logs for visits or order confirmations. Report impersonation of Asphaltgold to the retailer so it can warn customers.
