How the scam works
The page uses the title "Shelf Stable Emergency Food Products | Augason Farms" to look like the brand's own catalog. Domains like this one, built from the brand name plus "gear", are typically paired with steep discounts on bulk buckets and survival kits to rush buyers to checkout. Victims pay for orders that never ship, or ship as cheap substitutes. They also hand over their card details, name, address and phone number, which can be reused for further fraud or targeted phishing.
Evidence
Ten of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-11, including BitDefender, ESET, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Gridinsoft and LevelBlue. Agreement among that many established vendors is strong confirmation for a storefront scam, since these sites often show no malware at all. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and specifically identified the page as a fake shop. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-07-17, about twelve weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap fits a shop that was set up and then promoted once it looked established. It is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in the US and uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate. The padlock in the browser only means the connection is encrypted.
