How the scam works
Fake shops like Athentiq copy the look of a normal e-commerce site, with product grids, discounts, a cart and a checkout, so nothing feels off until after payment. The buyer hands over card details, billing address and contact information, then gets either nothing, a cheap counterfeit, or a tracking number that leads nowhere. The real losses are the money paid, the card data, which can be reused, and personal details that later feed follow-up phishing. Because the site still redirects, a visitor may end up on a different page than the one the link promised.

On 2026-10-11, six of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-07-26, about ten weeks before it was detected. That gap is consistent with a store that was set up quietly, stocked with listings and then promoted. It is hosted at 212.52.28.20 on a network registered to Malakmadze Web LLC in Georgia, with the IP itself located in the United States.
What to do
If you ordered from Athentiq, contact your card issuer or payment provider now. Report the charge as fraud, request a chargeback and ask for a replacement card if you entered full card details. Do not send any extra payment for "customs", "shipping" or "verification". Treat any email or text that quotes your order as a likely phishing attempt, and change the password anywhere you reused the one you set for this store.
