PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

astraluxclient.com presents itself as "Astralux Client", a free Krypton × Glazed mod for Minecraft versions 1.21-26.2. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page aimed at players hunting for modded clients. We first flagged it on 2026-09-29. At the last check on 2026-10-19 the domain was still registered, but its DNS no longer resolved, so the page itself was not reachable.

How the scam works

The page title promises a free download of a well-known style of Minecraft hack client. That is a common lure for young and casual players, who are used to grabbing mods from unofficial sites. In general, fake mod pages like this push a download that installs malware. Such malware typically steals saved browser passwords, session cookies, Discord and game account tokens, and data from crypto wallet extensions. Some versions ask for a Minecraft or Microsoft login instead. The victim thinks they got a game mod, while their accounts and stored credentials are handed over.

Evidence

On 2026-10-01, 11 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Certego, CRDF, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and G-Data. That is a modest count, but it comes from several unrelated security vendors. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing, which feeds mail and DNS filters at many organizations. It also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers are tracking it too.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-01-22 through Web Commerce Communications Limited (WebNic.cc). It ran for roughly eight months before PhishDestroy detected it, a long run for a throwaway lure. It was hosted at 196.251.107.204 on the FEMO IT SOLUTIONS LIMITED network in Germany. The free Let's Encrypt certificate only means the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you downloaded anything from this site, do not run it again. Delete the file and run a full scan with an up-to-date antivirus. If you already ran it, consider the device compromised. From a clean device, change the passwords for your Microsoft/Minecraft, Discord, email and any browser-saved accounts. Log out all active sessions and turn on two-factor authentication. If a crypto wallet extension or wallet files were on that machine, move your funds to a new wallet created on a clean device. Defenders should block the domain and its IP, and search endpoint and proxy logs for downloads from it.
