arataofficial.shop is an impersonation phishing page dressed up as an official store for Arata, the Indian hair care brand. Its page title reads "Arata - Seen On Shark Tank - Hair Care For Every Indian | Arata" and leans on the brand's Shark Tank fame to win the trust of Indian shoppers. PhishDestroy first saw the site on 2026-10-03. It was still alive on 2026-10-19 and was redirecting visitors elsewhere.
How the scam works
Fake brand shops copy a real company's name, product photos and marketing lines, then add a checkout that sends money to the operators. A shopper who searches for Arata products, or clicks an ad or social post, lands on what looks like the official store. That shopper pays for shampoos or oils that never ship, or that arrive as cheap substitutes. The checkout also collects names, phone numbers, delivery addresses and card details, which can be reused for fraud or follow-up scams.
Evidence
urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically flagged it as a fake shop, which fits our classification. On VirusTotal, 4 of 91 engines flagged it on 2026-10-03: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Gridinsoft and LevelBlue. That count is low, so most browser and antivirus protections will not warn a visitor yet. PhishDestroy currently lists the domain on its blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-06-16, about three and a half months before we detected it. A gap like that suggests the store was prepared in advance rather than thrown up and burned within days. The site is hosted on the network of Malakmadze Web LLC, a Georgian provider, on an address that geolocates to the US. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a browser padlock, but that only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about who runs the shop.
What to do
If you ordered from this site, contact your bank or card issuer right away. Ask them to block the card and dispute the charge as fraud, and keep any order confirmation or payment receipt as proof. Treat calls, SMS or WhatsApp messages about "delivery issues" or refunds with suspicion, since the operators have your contact details, and never share OTPs or card PINs. Buy Arata products only through the brand's verified channels or established marketplaces. Security teams should block the domain, and Arata's brand-protection team can report it to the registrar and hosting provider for takedown.
