How the scam works
Impersonation storefronts like this copy a real brand's name, product range and look, then use an unrelated domain to take orders. The shopper browses discounted taps or furniture, adds items to the cart and pays at checkout. They hand over their name, address, email, phone number and card details. Goods typically never arrive, and the captured card and personal data can be reused for further fraud. The redirect means visitors may land on a different page than the one they clicked, a common way such shops move traffic between domains.
Evidence
On 2026-10-06, seven of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, ESET, G-Data, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is modest, but the vendors are independent of one another. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and specifically identified the site as a fake shop, which matches our classification. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses. Among blocklists, it is currently listed by PhishDestroy.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-08-09. That is about eight weeks before PhishDestroy detected it, enough time to build and populate a convincing storefront. It resolves to an address on the Malakmadze Web LLC network, a Georgian-registered provider, with the IP located in the United States. A free Let's Encrypt certificate supplies the padlock, so the browser's secure-connection icon says nothing about whether the shop is legitimate.
What to do
If you paid on apronway.shop, contact your card issuer or bank right away to block the card and dispute the charge as fraud. Keep any order confirmations and emails as evidence. Watch your statements for unfamiliar transactions. Expect follow-up phishing using the name, address and phone number you entered, and treat unexpected "delivery" or "refund" messages with suspicion. If you created an account there with a password you use elsewhere, change it on those other services. Defenders should block the domain and its redirect targets, alert on lookalike retail domains using the Tapron name, and report the site to the registrar and hosting provider.
