PhishDestroy threat report
app-hyperliquidity.xyz is an impersonation phishing page built to pass as Hyperliquid, the on-chain perpetuals exchange. It presented itself as "Hyperliquid Documentation & Knowledge Base" to reach traders looking for guides, setup help or answers about the platform. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-13. The site has been offline since 2026-09-25 and was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.
A fake documentation hub works because it borrows trust. Users who search for help or follow a link in a support chat land on pages that look like official Hyperliquid material. Those pages then send them to a lookalike app or a "troubleshooting" step that asks them to connect a wallet, sign a transaction or enter a recovery phrase. Any of these hands the attacker control. A signature or approval can let them move tokens, and a seed phrase gives up the entire wallet. The "app-" prefix and the near-match spelling of the brand are meant to make the address look like an official subdomain at a glance.
Several independent parties back the classification. On 2026-09-24, VirusTotal showed 6 of 89 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is modest, but it is typical for a phishing domain only days old. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, and it is referenced in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc on 2026-09-11, only two days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap points to a throwaway domain launched straight into a campaign. It was hosted on Namecheap, Inc. network space in Japan. It carried a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the browser padlock said nothing about whether the site was legitimate. The site went dark about two weeks after it first appeared, which fits a short-lived phishing run.
If you connected a wallet or signed anything on this site, move your remaining funds to a new wallet you control. Then revoke any token approvals granted around that time using a reputable approval checker. If you typed in a seed phrase, treat that wallet as fully compromised and stop using it. Reach Hyperliquid documentation only through the address you already trust, not through search ads or links from strangers. Security teams should block the domain and watch for sibling registrations that combine "app-" or "hyperliquidity" with cheap TLDs.
