Its Portuguese page title translates to "Apse is now Apice Cosmeticos - Official Store," a rebrand story that makes an unfamiliar domain feel legitimate to Portuguese-speaking cosmetics buyers. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-02. As of 2026-10-19 the site still responded, though its DNS was reported inactive.
How the scam works
Fake beauty shops like this copy a real brand's name and look, then advertise steep discounts on popular products to push quick purchases. The "Apse is now Apice" line answers an obvious question in advance: why the store sits on a new, unfamiliar address instead of the brand's usual site. Shoppers who check out typically lose the payment, because orders never arrive or are replaced by worthless items. They also hand over their card details, home address and phone number, which can be reused for further fraud.
Evidence
On 2026-10-02, six of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and Webroot. That count is modest, but it comes from several independent vendors. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and specifically identified the page as a fake shop, which matches our classification. The domain also appears in one AlienVault OTX threat pulse and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-06-18, about 106 days before we detected it. Fake shops are often registered and left idle for a while, then switched on for an ad campaign. The site is hosted at 188.244.119.42 on a network operated by Malakmadze Web LLC, which is registered in Georgia, while the IP geolocates to the United States. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate shows a padlock, but that padlock says nothing about whether the shop is honest.
