How the scam works
A fake mixer has one goal: getting you to send coins. The page copies the Anonymixer name and offers to break the link between your old and new addresses. You get a deposit address, send BTC and expect clean coins back at an address you chose, but nothing returns. Because mixing is meant to be untraceable and Bitcoin transfers are irreversible, victims lose the full deposit and have little recourse.
Evidence
On 2026-09-29, 14 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and G-Data. That is a minority of engines, but the vendors behind it are independent of one another. MetaMask and SEAL also list the domain alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet users may already see warnings. It appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers have tracked it too.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot, LLC on 2026-01-26, nearly eight months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests the name was registered well in advance or had been active for some time before it drew attention. The site sits behind Cloudflare, Inc. on an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the actual origin server. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a padlock in the browser, which says nothing about whether the operator is legitimate.
What to do
Do not send any Bitcoin to deposit addresses shown on this site or on any page it redirects to. If you already sent funds, treat them as lost to the operator. Record the transaction IDs and the deposit address you were given, and report them to PhishDestroy and to any exchange that sent or may receive the coins, so the trail can be flagged. Ignore follow-up offers to recover funds or pay a fee to release a stuck mix, because these are a common second-stage scam. Defenders should block the domain and anything it redirects to at DNS and proxy level, and add it to watchlists for mixer-themed lures.
