americanmeadowsco.shop is a fake online shop that copies American Meadows, a well-known retailer of wildflower seeds, perennial plants and bulbs. Its page title, "Wildflower Seeds, Perennial Plants & Bulbs | American Meadows", is designed to look like the real store to shoppers who land on it from ads or search results. PhishDestroy first saw the domain on 2026-10-02. As of 2026-10-19 it was still online and redirecting visitors.
How the scam works
Fake shops like this rebuild a familiar brand's catalogue and branding, then attract buyers with discounted seed mixes and plant bundles. The extra "co" in the domain and the cheap .shop ending are easy to miss when you are focused on a garden order. At checkout, the victim hands over card details, a billing address and contact information. The goods usually never arrive or are worthless substitutes, and the payment and personal data can be reused for further fraud or targeted phishing.
Evidence
Six of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain at the 2026-10-02 check: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue, Netcraft and SOCRadar. A small number of detections is typical for a young storefront, but Netcraft and CRDF specifically track fraudulent sites. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified the page as a fake shop. The domain also appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-06-15, about three and a half months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap fits the usual pattern of registering a lookalike domain, building the storefront and then promoting it. The site is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in Georgia, which has no connection to the US-based retailer it imitates. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives the browser padlock, but a padlock only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the shop is genuine.
What to do
If you paid on this site, contact your bank or card issuer now, report the charge as fraud and ask for a chargeback and a replacement card. Keep any order confirmations and watch your statements for further unauthorized charges. Treat follow-up emails or texts about "shipping problems" or "payment verification" as phishing. If you created an account with a password you use elsewhere, change it on those other services. Security teams should block the domain and its hosting IP, and brand-protection staff at American Meadows may want to pursue a takedown.
