It presents itself as a storefront for conversation card games under the title "Card Games for Improved Conversations | Tales.com", while the domain name points to a toy store. It targets shoppers looking for gifts or party games. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-29, and it was still online with its shop content live on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
The site borrows the name and product theme of a real card-game seller so a polished catalog looks familiar. Shoppers are pushed toward checkout with low prices or limited-time discounts. They then enter their name, address and payment card details. Fake shops of this kind usually take the money and ship nothing, or send a cheap item that does not match the listing. The card details entered at checkout can also be reused for further fraudulent charges.
Evidence
On 2026-10-01, 9 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. The vendors include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Netcraft. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and specifically identified the page as a fake shop, which independently matches our classification. The domain appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers are tracking it too.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-05-31, about four months before we detected it. That gap suggests the operators prepared the domain well in advance before the shop surfaced. It is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in the United States. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a browser padlock, but that only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the seller is genuine.
What to do
If you paid on aletoys.shop, contact your bank or card issuer right away. Report the transaction as fraud, ask for a chargeback and request a replacement card. Watch your statements for unfamiliar charges, and treat any follow-up emails about "delivery problems" or refunds from this shop as further attempts to get money from you. If you want Tales products, buy only through the brand's official channels, which you should find yourself rather than through ads. Security teams should block the domain, check proxy and DNS logs for visits, and report it to payment processors and the impersonated brand.
