akawabe.shop is a fraudulent storefront that calls itself KawaBeauty. Its page title simply repeats that name twice. It targets ordinary online shoppers rather than crypto users, and the bait is a beauty-branded catalogue. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-09-25. The shop was still online and serving its storefront when last checked on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
Fake shops like KawaBeauty copy the look of a real retailer, with product photos, prices below market and a working checkout. The victim pays by card or another method and gets either nothing or a cheap item unrelated to the order. Afterwards, emails go unanswered and refund requests stall. Victims lose the purchase amount. They also expose the card details, name, address and phone number typed into the checkout, which can be reused for further fraud or targeted follow-up scams.
Evidence
urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically tagged it as a fake shop, which matches our classification. On VirusTotal, 9 of 92 engines flagged it as of 2026-10-07, including alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a minority of engines, but the flagging vendors are independent of one another and agree on the verdict. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have catalogued it too.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-06-09, roughly three and a half months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap leaves enough time to build out a catalogue and start running ads before anyone reports the site. It is hosted on Malakmadze Web LLC's network in Georgia. The padlock in the browser comes from a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so it only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the shop is legitimate.
