PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ahsniper.org was an impersonation phishing page dressed up as a download portal for "AH Sniper 26.2 for Fabric — Hypixel Skyblock Mod". Its audience was Minecraft players on Hypixel Skyblock who want an auction-house sniper to flip items for in-game profit. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-29. The site is now dead: its DNS stopped resolving and it has been offline since 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake mod sites like this borrow the name and version numbering of a tool players already search for, so the download looks legitimate. In this kind of scheme the visitor downloads a file presented as a Fabric mod and drops it into their mods folder. Instead of a working sniper, the file runs code that can steal the Minecraft or Microsoft session, saved browser logins and Discord tokens. Victims can lose their Minecraft account, their Skyblock coins and items, and any other accounts reachable from the same machine.

Evidence

On 2026-10-01, 10 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including alphaMountain.ai, Certego, CRDF, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a minority of engines, but the vendors are independent of one another and of us. Spamhaus also lists the domain in its DBL with a phishing code. Six AlienVault OTX pulses reference it, so other researchers tracked the same campaign separately. PhishDestroy carries it on its blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-07 through WebNic.cc, about seven weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. That is a short life typical of throwaway lure domains. It was hosted on the FEMO IT SOLUTIONS LIMITED network in Germany. The free Let's Encrypt certificate only gave the page a padlock and says nothing about whether the site was trustworthy.

What to do

If you downloaded and ran a mod from this site, delete the file and run a full antivirus scan. Then change your Microsoft account password from a clean device and sign out of all sessions. Enable two-factor authentication on your Microsoft and Discord accounts, reset your Discord password, and change any passwords saved in your browser. Only get mods from the original developer's repository or established mod hosts. Defenders should block the domain and its IP, and hunt for Fabric mod JAR files appearing in user profiles.
