How the scam works
The page title, "High-Quality Smartwatch Bands | Facer Store", sets up a familiar niche-store pitch: polished product photos, steep discounts and a checkout that takes card or payment details. Fake shops like this usually either ship nothing, ship a cheap item unlike the one pictured, or stall with fake tracking until the refund window closes. Victims lose the purchase price. Their card data, address and email can also be reused for further fraud or phishing. The domain name, built around "acer threads", has no clear link to the store branding, which is common for disposable scam sites.
Evidence
On 2026-09-20, 10 of 89 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious. They included alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft and LevelBlue. That count is modest, but it comes from several unrelated vendors. urlscan.io gave a malicious verdict and specifically identified the page as a fake shop. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference the domain, and it is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-06-06, about three months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap leaves time to build the catalogue and start driving traffic through ads or social posts. The site is hosted in Georgia on the Malakmadze Web LLC network. Nothing in the setup points to an established retailer or the Facer brand itself.
What to do
