5mtbot.fun is an impersonation phishing page that advertised itself as "5MTBot — Automated Polymarket Bot for 5-Minute Crypto Rounds." It borrowed the Polymarket name to reach crypto traders betting on short-interval price markets. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-14. The site has been offline since 2026-10-16, and its DNS was still inactive at the last check on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The pitch is a bot that trades Polymarket's fast 5-minute crypto rounds for you and promises steady wins on markets too quick to play by hand. Fake trading bots of this kind usually ask the visitor to connect a wallet, fund a bot balance, or approve token spending so the bot can supposedly place bets. Whatever is deposited or approved goes to the operators, not to any trading engine. Victims lose the funds they sent and any tokens covered by the permissions they signed.

Evidence

Wallet-security blocklists caught this domain faster than generic scanners did. MetaMask and SEAL both list it alongside PhishDestroy, so many wallet users would have been warned before connecting. On VirusTotal, only 1 of 92 engines flagged it at the 2026-10-14 check, and that engine was alphaMountain.ai. That low score reflects how new the site was. It does not mean the site was safe.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-10-04, ten days before PhishDestroy detected it. It stopped resolving just two days after detection. That short lifespan is typical of throwaway domains spun up for a single campaign and abandoned once they get blocklisted. The site was hosted on G-Core Labs (AS199524) in Germany.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to 5mtbot.fun, use a token approval checker to review and revoke any permissions granted around the time you visited. If you sent funds to a bot balance, consider them lost. Do not pay any "unlock" or "activation" fee to get them back, and do not trust anyone who offers recovery for a fee. If you shared a seed phrase, move your assets at once to a new wallet created from a fresh phrase. Defenders should block the domain, watch for lookalike "Polymarket bot" domains on the same theme, and report any reappearance to the relevant blocklists.
