PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

xtcoinhub.com poses as XT.com, a cryptocurrency exchange, and is aimed at people who trade or hold coins there. It copies XT.com's own page title, "Crypto Exchange | Bitcoin Exchange | Buy/Sell Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Altcoins | XT.com", so a browser tab or search result looks like the real exchange. PhishDestroy first saw the domain on 2026-09-19. On 2026-10-19 it was still online and its content was answering with a redirect.

How the scam works

Exchange impersonation pages copy the branding and login flow of the real platform. A visitor who thinks they are on XT.com types in their email, password and one-time 2FA code, and the operators use those details on the genuine exchange to empty the account. Some versions of this scheme also show fake deposit addresses or "verification" steps, so the victim sends crypto straight to the attackers. Either way, the victim loses the account and any funds that can be moved out of it.

Evidence

Six of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-27: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That count is modest, so many security products will still let the site load without a warning. The domain is also on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists as well as PhishDestroy's, which means several crypto-focused teams have reached the same verdict on their own.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2025-11-11, about ten months before PhishDestroy caught it. That gap suggests the name was held in reserve or used quietly before this campaign. The site is hosted on Amazon cloud infrastructure in Singapore. Its Sectigo DV certificate only proves control of the domain, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is the real XT.com.

What to do

If you entered XT.com credentials on this site, sign in through the official XT.com app or a bookmarked address right away. Change your password, reset your 2FA, and check your active sessions, API keys and withdrawal whitelist for anything you did not add. If you sent crypto to an address the site showed you, contact XT.com support and report the transaction, and do not pay any "fee" that promises to unlock or recover funds. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and alert staff or customers who trade on XT.com.
