PhishDestroy threat report
uniswaps.to poses as Uniswap, the decentralized exchange, under the page title "Uniswap | Decentralized Crypto Exchange | Instant Swaps". The domain adds a single letter to the brand name and uses the .to extension, a lookalike built to catch traders who mistype the address or click a sponsored or shared link. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-14. As of 2026-10-19 the site is still reported as alive, though its content was not resolving because its DNS was inactive.
Fake Uniswap front ends copy the real swap interface and ask visitors to connect a wallet before they can trade. The connection is followed by a request to approve a token spend or sign a permit, which gives the operator the right to move the victim's tokens. Some variants instead show a fake "sync" or "verify" prompt that asks for the recovery phrase. Either way the victim loses whatever the signed approval covers, or the entire wallet if the seed phrase is entered.
Eight of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain at the 2026-09-22 check: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That count is modest, but the wallet-focused sources are unambiguous. MetaMask and SEAL both block the domain alongside PhishDestroy, and Spamhaus lists it in its DBL as a phishing domain. Three AlienVault OTX pulses also reference it, so other researchers have tracked it independently.
The domain was registered on 2026-07-08, about ten weeks before PhishDestroy caught it. That gap fits a lookalike that was set up ahead of time and then put to use. Registration runs through the Tonga registry, Government of Kingdom of Tonga, and the site is hosted on the Global Layer B.V. network with a Brazilian IP location. Its Let's Encrypt certificate shows a padlock in the browser, which only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
If you connected a wallet to uniswaps.to, use a token approval checker to revoke any allowances or permits you granted, and move your remaining assets to a fresh address if you signed anything unfamiliar. If you typed in a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer the funds to a new wallet created from a new seed right away. In the future, reach Uniswap only through a saved bookmark. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for similar one-letter Uniswap lookalikes on other extensions.
